The one-man band marches to the beat of his drum fully in control of his instruments. Like the one-man band a self-employed person or a small organization is usually fully aware of the goings-on in the business.

Large companies though are not as cognizant as the one-man band because information does not flow as freely and as quickly. Today's pace of change provide management with very little reaction time to respond to threats and opportunities. Over time, the breakdown in communication and seepage of knowledge as people leave the organization will further erode a company's I.Q.

The syndrome of not knowing can be brewing over many years and is not immediately obvious from the naked eyes or business indicators. A sense of well being and prosperity usually precede any downward spiral.

The "Universal Dilemma" which every successful enterprise faces is this: sooner or later someone will challenge your position, from competitors that are smarter, more nimble and cost efficient than you. Business managers are spurred by the Universal Dilemma to act. They have to become more accepting and receptive to change. Their business has to be less rigid in order to confront any threats or to seize and exploit new opportunities. Therefore they want to improve customer service, increase productivity, mitigate the impact of change and through sound risk management to minimize: chances of litigation, seepage of knowledge, catastrophic loss of knowledge in disasters or other events.

Knowledge management is one of the many strategies designed to combat the Universal Dilemma. Knowledge management is simply managing information flow to get the right information to the people who need it so that they can act on it quickly.

KnowledgeAble® is our knowledge management (KM) practice developed from practical experience gained from implementing our own and customers' solutions.

KnowledgeAble® is based on the following maxims: -

Knowledge is illusive and is not easily captured
There are different types of knowledge
People, technology and communication interact in the knowledge pool

Why is KnowledgeAble® Different ?
When it comes to changing the way your organization operates many businesses are poorly served by their own I.T. systems or advice from external consultants.

The schism between business needs and technology is widening. On the one end the pace of change and competitive pressure are forcing business to transform in order to survive. On the other end technology companies are outdoing each other in the features stake.

Most change management projects fail to deliver the benefits promised because they:

Focus on technology
Too much emphasis is placed on what technology can do.

Focus on processes
Reliance on re-engineering the work processes to derive the last bit of cost savings.

Focus on bottom line
Cost cutting and profit results motivate the desire to change. The common approach of downsizing and outsourcing can lead to dysfunctional work units caused by brain drain, morale problem and the break down in internal communication. The stranglehold dependency on outside expertise for mission critical functions can lead to loss of control and increased cost.

Focus on strategy
Fine strategic visions but lack the execution and tactical component.

KnowledgeAble® addresses the gap by integrating communication, technology and people to enhance the collaboration between all stakeholders inside and outside your organization. By taking the best of breed technologies from I.T. and telecommunication and integrating them into solutions, we are able to provide answers to business problems related to change.

KnowledgeABLE® helps rebuild organizations that welcome change. These are smart organizations who invest in systems designed to capture their knowledge electronically so that change becomes everyday reality that is monitored and responded to without ignorance or fear.

KnowledgeABLE® will also transform the way we work and interact with our customers. In this environment, customer information is always on hand for anybody to anser queries or solve problems. It is also an environment where the use of paper is minimised.

KnowledgeABLE® is not a practice that just gives you strategic advice and then leave the implementation to you. It harnesses technologies and people by better knowledge management and communications.

KnowledgeABLE® will transform the way people work, access information, communicate with customers and service clients.

KnowledgeABLE® companies deal with less paper and are capable of transforming itself.
